Do I have to dance RoleRotation or both roles to join?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. Some of the workshops will be Role Rotation workshops, but there will generally be an alternative workshop at the same time. If you don’t dance both roles, but would like to get started there will also be an RoleRotation bootcamp at the beginning of the event. At the parties you will of course always be free to dance whatever role you choose.

Will there be day passes or single party tickets?

No, the festival will be be an immersive experience where participants are split into three teams and are earning points from various activities during the event including joining workshops or competitions. We don’t think day passes and single party tickets support this concept.

Which faction should I choose?

Accepted Answer

The three factions embody a variety of different aspects, so most people should be able to find something they identify with whether it be colour theme, dance style, philosophy, fantasy roles, favourite artist etc.

Question 4

How does the faction points work, and what can we win?

Accepted Answer

You can earn points for your faction by participating in workshops, going to the parties, competing in the styling battle, doing the choreo challenge and a few other things. The prize for the winning faction is mainly bragging rights, but the themes of the faction will also feature more prominently in the next edition.

Do I need to dress up in costume for the theme?

Accepted Answer

We encourage you to express yourself and to showcase your creativity, but costumes are by no means mandatory.

Question 6

Are there non-bachata classes?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a some of the workshops will be dance related but not specific to bachata. There will be lots of styling workshops, as well as some coaching and stretching

Question 7

Will there be opportunities to meet people outside of dancing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the event starts with a city tour, and there will be a house meet-up.
