Code of Conduct

1. Core Values: Respect, Inclusion & Safety

Bachata Beyond is committed to create a welcoming and respectful environment for all participants. By attending any of our events, participants agree to uphold the values of:

  • Respect for others regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, physical ability, or background
  • Kindness and cooperation
  • Tolerance and open-mindedness

Discriminatory behavior, including racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise degrading remarks or actions, will not be tolerated. This applies to all attendees, staff, volunteers, and artists..


 

2. Safe & Inclusive Environment

To ensure everyone feels safe and respected:

  • Violence, harassment, or intimidation of any kind is strictly prohibited.
  • Inappropriate comments or actions can be reported directly to our designated contact person present at the event.
  • The contact person is available to listen, support, and act when necessary.

Bachata Beyond reserves the right to remove individuals from the event without compensation in response to inappropriate behavior. In cases of violence or serious misconduct, Dutch authorities may be contacted.



3. Political Neutrality

To maintain a peaceful and inclusive atmosphere, we ask that attendees refrain from political debates or expressionsthat may cause discomfort or division. This includes:

  • Political slogans, clothing, or banners
  • Advocacy or protest of political causes
  • Discussions that may incite conflict

Our events are apolitical spaces dedicated to dance, culture, and community.



4. Practical Guidelines

To support the smooth operation of events:

  • Respect the venue, including staff, volunteers, and property (furniture, décor, equipment).
  • Use the cloakroom for jackets, bags, or large items. We are not liable for lost property not placed there.
  • Wear your event wristband at all times. No entry without it.
  • Smoking and vaping are allowed only in designated areas outside of the venue.
  • Noise levels must be kept down in shared hotel spaces to respect other guests.
  • Bachata Beyond may limit class sizes for safety and quality.
  • We are not responsible for artist cancellations; no refunds will be issued for such changes.


5. Alcohol & Drug Policy

  • Participants are expected to consume alcohol responsibly.
  • If you have consumed alcohol, do not drive. Our team can help arrange transport.
  • Drug use is strictly forbidden and will result in immediate removal from the event.


6. Dance Ethics

To preserve a respectful dance culture:

  • Everyone has the right to refuse a dance at any time.
  • Practice personal hygiene for the comfort of all (e.g., deodorant, clean clothes, fresh breath).
  • Respect the level of each class and avoid attending workshops beyond your actual level.
  • Show respect to teachers and fellow dancers.
  • Maintain spatial awareness while dancing to prevent injury.
  • Consent is mandatory before attempting dips, lifts, or acrobatic moves.


7. Legal Framework

All events hosted in the Netherlands are subject to Dutch law, including regulations concerning equality, anti-discrimination, public order, and safety.
