Not at all. Some of the workshops will be Role Rotation workshops, but there will generally be an alternative workshop at the same time. If you don’t dance both roles, but would like to get started there will also be an RoleRotation bootcamp at the beginning of the event. At the parties you will of course always be free to dance whatever role you choose.

No, the festival will be be an immersive experience where participants are split into three teams and are earning points from various activities during the event including joining workshops or competitions. We don’t think day passes and single party tickets support this concept.

The three houses embody a variety of different aspects, so most people should be able to find something they identify with whether it be colour theme, dance style, philosophy, fantasy roles, favourite artist etc.

You can earn points for your house by participating in workshops, going to the parties, competing in the J&J’s, doing the choreo challenge and a few other things. The prize for the winning house is mainly bragging rights, but the themes of the house will also feature more prominently in the next edition.

We encourage you to express yourself and to showcase your creativity, but costumes are by no means mandatory.

Yes, a few of the workshops will be dance related but not specific to bachata.

Yes, the event starts with a city tour, and there will be a house meet-up.
